Anahon is an independent media platform dedicated to empowering democracy, freedom of speech, and fair representation. This Editorial Policy sets out the standards that govern how we create, review, and publish our content, so that our audience can trust its integrity, accuracy, and independence.
Our approach: solutions journalism
As an independent platform, we believe in the value of constructive, solutions-focused journalism. We aim to examine each story from multiple angles and perspectives to give the fullest possible picture, to keep our audience informed on the issues that matter most, and to do so through a range of formats — articles, infographics, reels, short documentaries, interviews, and podcasts — across our website and social channels.
Accuracy and objectivity
- All content is thoroughly researched and fact-checked before publication.
- Information is presented in a balanced and impartial manner.
- Sources must be credible, and their authenticity verified.
Relevance and impact
We focus on topics of genuine cultural, social, economic, and political relevance, with particular emphasis on youth-led initiatives and social issues that empower our community.
Ethical standards and inclusivity
- Our contributors uphold the highest ethical standards, avoiding plagiarism and respecting copyright.
- We represent diverse voices and perspectives, promote social equity, and avoid discriminatory language.
Editorial review and approval
- Every piece passes through an editorial review for accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
- Content is approved by editorial leadership before publication, and stories with potential legal implications receive legal review.
Distinguishing news, opinion, and commercial content
- News is factual, verified reporting, clearly labelled as such.
- Opinion — editorials, columns, and commentary — reflects the author’s views and is clearly labelled “Opinion,” “Editorial,” or “Commentary.” It is grounded in fact, but the line between reporting and personal viewpoint is always made clear.
- Commercial content — advertising and sponsored material — is clearly identified as “Sponsored,” “Advertisement,” or “Paid Content,” and is distinguishable from editorial content in design and placement.
User-generated and eyewitness content
We may use audience-submitted and eyewitness material to broaden and deepen our coverage. All such content is verified and editorially reviewed before publication, clearly labelled to distinguish it from professional reporting, and used only with appropriate consent and rights — always with care for the safety and privacy of contributors.
Conflicts of interest and editorial independence
- Editorial decisions are never influenced by advertisers, sponsors, donors, or commercial partners; content is produced on editorial merit alone.
- The editorial team operates independently from business development, fundraising, and advertising functions.
- Business, political, and personal conflicts of interest must be disclosed to editorial leadership and, where it does not compromise anyone’s safety, to our audience. We maintain political neutrality and do not serve any political agenda or affiliation.
Source protection and safety
- We safeguard the wellbeing of our journalists, especially those covering sensitive or dangerous topics.
- We protect the digital security of contributors and sources.
- We allow sensitive information to be reported anonymously where necessary, and we protect whistleblowers and confidential sources.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. Our full process is set out on our Corrections page.
